This is what EFCC boss said when he was asked about Tinubu’s alleged corruption

Here is what EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu  said when he was asked about allegations of corruption thrown at APC national leader, Bola Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.

Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) , Ibrahim Magu , found himself in an awkward position on Monday November 12, 2018 , when a journalist asked him about corruption allegations often aimed at the APC national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Magu was giving a scorecard of his agency's work at a press conference which was held at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria's Capital.

Afterwards, journalists assailed the anti-corruption czar with questions.

"When would Magu probe Tinubu?"

When would Magu probe Tinubu who had claimed, ahead of the Osun governorship elections , that he is richer than all the entire southwest states?. One journalist inquired.

Tinubu belongs to the president's governing political party and allegations bordering on the sources of his wealth since he left office as the governor of Lagos State in 2007, have dominated grapevine and beer parlour chatter for decades.

The allegations remained unproven, however.

Responding, Magu said he can only act on allegations contained in petition not just hearsay. He challenged the journalist to forward to him petitions containing Tinubu's  alleged dubious dealings and illicit accumulation of wealth.

You know what? If you are really interested, write a petition and see whether I won't act. Go and write a petition and substantiate in the petition and see if I won't act. Magu said.
