The club captain has gone level with the 249-goal tally of the great Sir Bobby Charlton by netting against Reading Wayne Rooney has equalled Manchester United's all-time goalscoring record by scoring his 249th goal for the club against Reading on Saturday. The 31-year-old went into the FA Cup third round clash with Jaap Stam's side one goal shy of the mark set by Sir Bobby Charlton between 1956 and 1973, but his goal put United 1-0 up and took him level with the legendary club director's tally. The skipper turned home Juan Mata's pass with his knee after a driving run on the left by Anthony Martial, giving United a seventh-minute lead in the third-round clash at Old Trafford. Rooney, who signed for United in a £27 million transfer from Everton in 2004, has reached the 249-goal mark four years and 215 games quicker than Charlton managed. Being Lazy is a sign of high Intelligence?

New research seems to prove the theory that brainy people spend more time lazing around than their active counterparts. Findings from a US-based study seem to support the idea that people with a high IQ get bored less easily, leading them to spend more time engaged in thought. And active people may be more physical as they need to stimulate their minds with external activities, either to escape their thoughts or because they get bored quickly. Researchers from the Florida Gulf Coast University gave a classic test – dating back three decades - to a group of students. The ‘need for cognition’ questionnaire asked participants to rate how strongly they agree with statements such as "I really enjoy a task that involves coming up with new solutions to problems", and "I only think as hard as I have to". He was led by the Chief Justice, Theodora Georgina Wood to take the oath of office before thousands of people and African leaders at the inaugural ceremony, which held at the Black Stars square today.
