Helen Paul, Keppy Bassey Ekpeyong to host 2018 Best of Nollywood Awards

As this year’s Best of Nollywood awards draws closer, the hosts of the 10th edition have been announced, unveiled in a statement by Chief Executive Officer, BON Seun Oloketuyi. Erstwhile comedian Helen Paul and veteran actor Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey have been paired to helm proceedings of the awards, which will take place in Oyo and will have Governor Abiola Ajimobi as the chief host.

Nominations for the BON awards have already been announced with Tope Oshin’s We Don’t Live Here Anymore impressively leading with ten nods. “This year, we received 112 films including 93 feature films, eight short films and one documentary series were screened. Ten others were disqualified for various reasons relating to not meeting entry requirements,” Head of BON awards screeners committee Niyi Adedokun said in a statement.

Uduak-Obong Patrick’s Obsession, starring Yemi Blaq and Judith Audu, followed closely with six nominations. It’s also worth mentioning that the comedy category was renamed to posthumously honour Baba Sala. Slated to hold December 8, the BON Awards is an annual film ceremony presented by the Best of Nollywood magazine honouring outstanding achievements in the Nigerian movie industry.
