Ekweremadu dismisses Police report on alleged assassination attempt, threatens to release CCTV footage
Nigeria Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has threatened to release all the video on the alleged assasination attempt to the public if the police do not correct their reports which states it was a mere bulgary case.
It was reported Tuesday, that an un indentified gunman was arested by the police in Abuja after invading residence of Eweremadu.
Police had said. in it's report "Preliminary investigation carried out so far did not reveal assasination attempt on the life of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Eweremadu and his family but a case of bulgary. Howver, investigation is still ongoing to to determine if there was anything motive behind the offence.
"There was no delays in police intervention of the incident that occurred in the residence of the DSP. 4 Police personnel and 1 personnel of the NSCDC on duty at the residence of the DSP at the time of the incidence has been arrested and currently in detention awaiting further investigation.
But in plenary today, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe cited orders 42 and 52, bringing the attention of the senate to the investigation of Nigeria police and attracted the reaction of Eweremadu who said, "I want to thank you all for your concern in this matter. No thorough investigation was made by the police.
"The police looked at CCTV footage but could not figure it out. Fortunately, a technician came and was able to figure out the footage".
Unless they withdraw thie report, I will release the video to Nigerians to judge for themselves.
